iPhone Cradle

It’s not the manufacturers that drive the computer/tech industry any more. As soon as something new comes out, the techies are hacking away, trying to see just what they can make it do. I saw an article when the first iPods were rolling out about someone who made a mount out of RTV Rubber for this car console to dock his iPod and integrate it with his stereo system. At the time, I was using one of those fm transmitters to play my mp3 in the car, which is a real hassle. You get poor quality, and you have to plug in your iPod every time you get in the car, and then it slides all over while you’re driving.

Recently, I went to lunch with a coworker, and he had an iPhone dock mounted to his dash, and the mount was plugged into his cigarette lighter and stereo input. All this had to do was sit it in the dock and it started charging and playing. No hassle, no loss of quality, no sliding around on the dash.

Needless to say, I pick up what I needed to do the same thing on the way home. All it took was the dock, dual male mini headphone cord, car charger, and about 5 minutes.

What’s even better, I picked one up for home as well, because the dock that shipped with my iPhone has the weird connector rather than USB, and twice I have had to call customer service because a bad connection was making my phone and computer go crazy. New dock works great.
