There are few experiences in life that are disturbing as a computer crash. You get used to your computer being reliable and always ready to take you to your favorite internet sites. You no doubt have hundreds if not thousands of documents, reports, music, video and other files on your computer that would be devastating to lose. So when you go to your computer and you see that horrible sight of a blue screen with a message on it reporting that your computer has crashed, along with the physical loss of data and your access to the internet, the emotional toll it can take can be devastating.

It may seem like the end of the world when you have lost all of the data on your computer. Trust me as I have been there, and felt the panic and sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach. One minute all was on my computer and then things froze up. I restarted the computer thinking that was all it would take.

An hour later my computer was still stuck on trying to reboot. I later found out it wasn’t going to get out of that process on its own either. That is when I was told that I was likely going to lose all of my data. Should something like this happen to you, don’t stress about it. The good news is that you may not have lost all of your data after all.

The first rule to live by in a computer crisis is don’t assume anything. If a friend, the local computer geek or even the guy on the help line for your computer make says you will lose all of your data, don’t you believe it! Unless your computer was damaged in a catastrophe like a fire or something that literally destroyed it, that data is probably on that hard drive still in some form. You will have to use some wisdom and get some help but you can probably restore or recover much of the data that is out there when you get your computer up and running again.

The steps you take after you find out such information seems to be lost are very important. They can make the difference between data being recovered or being forever lost. You may have a hard disk that is corrupted but that doesn’t mean all of the data on the drive has been destroyed. How you handle the recovery will make the difference between restoring your critical information accidentally deleting files. It can also mean you end up not being able to open files you need to gain access to.

When you have a corrupt hard disk the information that has been saved on your computer becomes impossible to access. You have a virus infection and then your computer is going to get hung up. It can also start randomly shutting down. All of these scenarios are frustrating and they can prevent you from being productive at work or at home when it comes to the use of your computer.

If you have critical data on your computer you may be panicking. With so many people using a computer for business these days that is becoming more serious. However, that isn’t to mean that those photos and other items you have saved on your computer aren’t as precious to you. They are definitely items you will be devastated to lose.

What many people don’t realize though is that data is really never deleted from the hard disk. It is still there even if you aren’t able to access it. Until those sections of the hard disk have been written over then you still have a chance to fully and successfully recover them. A hard drive is a complicated matrix of data that is organized by some tables that tell the computer where everything else. When a disk drive crashes, the problem is usually that the device has lost contact with those tables. The data is there but the computer needs a little help finding it.

The second big rule of a disk crash is not to do anything directly to the disk. The data is laid out by the internal logic of computers and it is probably still there. When you "delete" a file, it isn't wiped off the disk. It is just flagged out of the tables as useful and the space freed up for use the next time the computer saves something. There are numerous programs that have been written that can help you step through the process of recovering data from a crashed disk drive.

When you find one you feel good about, follow the instructions with the greatest of care. They will almost always instruct you to run the program from another device. Either run it from the CD that comes with the software or download the software using another computer and install it on a flash drive. By observing that procedure, you will not write anything on the crashed drive and none of the data that is waiting to be rescued will be destroyed.

That isn’t to mean that disk data recovery is something that you can do with ease. Instead it is something that you have to be very careful with. The recovery can be complex so it can be intimidating to do on your own. The best course of action though is to rely on software that is especially designed for such a recovery process. Such a program can take you step by step through the recovery process.

It can take several hours to complete the process, but you will sigh with relief when you are able to recover your data this way. Using such a recovery program won’t alter the hard disk of your computer either so it is safe for you to use.

There is another approach to recovering your data from a crashed system that is much more secure and that involves much less anxiety. That is to invest in a back up system that will offload all of your critical data to a location that is secure before the disk crashes. There are many new services run by reputable vendors that will allow you to back up you retire hard drive on a scheduled routine. The software is timed so it can automatically back up your systems to a secured site over the internet.

If you use this kind of system, all you have to do if your computer dies is fix it or buy a new computer and then download all of your critical data from the backup site. Just like that, everything on your fixed or new computer is exactly the way it was the last backup before the crash. There is a small cost to this kind of system. But it is worth it when you consider the peace of mind you will have and the insurance that you will never lose data to a computer crisis again.

For example, A traveler in a vehicle using laptop which is connected to internet via GSM phone is involved in mobile computing. Mobile computing technology allows the mobile employee or any worker for that matter to: (a) acess; (b) create; (c) process; (d) store; and (e) communicate information to and fro without being limited to a single location.

Mobile Computing can be instrumental in: (1) process reengineering; (2) reducing operational and administrative staff; (3) enhancing communications; (4) improvising customer services; (5) reducing production costs; (6) decreasing the time frame for nay business cycles; and many other benefits. Mobile Computing indeed is a versatile technology, the array of hardware, software, and communications systems existing and the numerous ways by which they can be incorporated to solve problems add to the versatility of mobile computing. Mobile computers can be used in inconsiderate outdoor environments as well as indoor office environments. Mobile Computers can be used by the employee standing, walking, or driving. Mobile Computers are accessible to the operators with no essential keyboard skills and to those who work with gloves on or who generally only have one hand free. Any one can be easily traine dto use mobile computers as they are as easy to use a paper and pen..
