There is no getting around the fact that when the IPad hit the market a few weeks ago, it was a genuine phenomenon. It has to drive the powers that be at Google and Microsoft crazy how easily Steve Jobs at Apple seems to be able to put their fingers on what “the next big thing” is and get that to the market. Google says they do not plan any massive changes to how the search engine works because of the coming of personalization. No doubt, this technology needs some time to be refined and for Google to understand what it can do. Google is so omnipresent on the internet that few of us will give up using it just because it seems that not only are you looking at Google, they are looking at you back. But just knowing that Google is getting to that point of profiling you based on your daily online thoughts can get a little spooky. I guess it is something we will have to get used to.
